Neo-Classical Row Housing Colony | 1 Acre

A neighborhood-scale development exploring collective identity through repetition—where a single residential module mirrors across the site to form a cohesive neo-classical row-housing colony, creating a continuous urban facade defined by rhythm, proportion, symmetry, and shared architectural language.

Architectural Narrative

The project explores the idea of collective identity through repetition, where a single residential module is carefully designed and then mirrored across the site to form a cohesive row-housing colony. Rather than treating each house as an isolated object, the architecture operates as a continuous urban façade, where rhythm, proportion, and symmetry become the defining language of the street.

Rooted in a Neo-classical vocabulary, the architecture employs familiar elements—cornices, pilasters, mouldings, and proportioned balconies—to establish a sense of timeless order. These classical components are not used as ornament alone, but as devices that organize the façade into a disciplined grid, allowing each unit to seamlessly connect with the next. As the module repeats, the elevation gains a monumental character, transforming a series of homes into a unified architectural composition.

Within this classical framework, contrasting metal railings introduce a contemporary layer. The delicate metal balustrades and gates act almost like fine lines drawn across the façade, adding lightness against the solid masonry expression of the building. Their darker tone subtly frames the balconies and openings, creating visual depth while maintaining transparency for light and views.

Together, repetition, symmetry, and material contrast create an architecture that balances individual living with collective presence—a neighborhood defined not by singular gestures, but by the elegance of rhythm, continuity, and shared architectural language.
