Architectural Narrative

Conceived as a small contemporary holiday retreat, the house explores the expressive potential of form through a fluid, curvilinear architectural language. Rather than relying on rigid geometry, the design embraces soft, continuous lines that wrap around the structure, creating a sculptural form that feels both dynamic and calm within its natural surroundings.

The defining gesture of the house is its flowing white canopy, which gently curves across the facade and folds downward to form a shaded car porch and entrance threshold. This sweeping form visually unifies the building while simultaneously softening the overall mass, allowing the architecture to feel light and inviting. The curved profile continues across the roofline, producing a silhouette that changes subtly as one moves around the house, giving the building a sense of motion and elegance.

Beneath this fluid outer layer, the inner volume is finished in soft textured plaster, providing a warm and tactile contrast to the smooth exterior frame. Large glazed openings and a dramatic curved window introduce natural light deep into the interiors while maintaining a strong visual dialogue with the surrounding landscape.

The project celebrates the idea that even a compact home can possess architectural character and spatial richness. Through the careful interplay of curvature, light, and material, the house becomes more than a shelter—it becomes a sculptural object in the landscape, where contemporary design transforms everyday living into a visually pleasing and experiential retreat.
