IDEA
CAFE LUXURY INTERIOR DESIGNERS IN GURGAON
The Hexa-Louvred Cafe Project in Carrier Midea, Sector 32, Gurgaon, was a design project in which we had to undertake the Cafe Interior Design within a certain spatial constraint and within the time limit. We had to deliver this design-themed cafe interior which matched the existing office interior of that company.
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge was to refurbish the existing office café interiors at hand which should suit the overall infrastructure. We had to work under the given constraints of furniture, structure, and spatial design. Another challenge was to execute the café within a given time as the company had no other place for lunch and the cafeteria Interior Design had to be delivered in the New Year 2020. Their cafe also had to operate alongside without shutting down the food business. The design challenges were creating elements that matched the existing theme of the office Interior Designing and making the place more functional and durable.
THE IDEA
We first wanted to start with spatial planning; we wanted to design the cafeteria which will be complemented with informal seating, a sofa with a table. This Luxury Interior was planned in such a way that people can take a break and read a book, lie down for a while, or chat with their fellow colleagues. The same seating could also be used as extra seating during lunchtime.
We wanted to add a designated space for hand washing to keep the wet area separate from the café but still be a part of it. The idea was to light up the space, make it more cheerful, and introduce greenery inside the café in order to provide a relaxing vibe. The wall on the right had existing louvers which became the source of our inspiration to make a café with a variation of louvres that will give a unique touch to the cafe interiors.
OUR WORK PROCESS
The entrance walls were painted in stripes and the idea was to create louvers with the paint on the wall. It also created an illusion while entering and highlighting the company’s logo.
We created informal seating at the back of the café, which had an L-shaped Sofa, with a cushioned back and louvres on the side. The louvres remained on the ceiling and the wall in front to enclose the informal seating that was created.
One of the side walls was decorated with an abstract pattern of hexagons which blended in with the louvres on the side. The other wall was textured and painted to keep it clean during the time of service.
The color combinations used were grey, brown, and white. We created hanging installations which also comprised lights and helped to light up the entire place. One such installation was a grass planter on the ceiling with a downward light on the tables.
The service counter was created with Statuaries Marble (white) stone and black granite on the top. We hung a louvered jali similar to jalI on the informal seating on top of the service counter to replicate the louvres on the ceiling and the walls.
A similar louvred jali was created on the entrance to give the sense of the entire theme while entering the café. Conical hanging lights were developed to break the monotony of straight lines in the space.
Hence, we successfully designed the cafeteria interiors by taking an approach where we integrated the Restaurant Interior Design theme with that of the Office Interior Design and finally delivered our full and final design to that company.
Apart from the Small Restaurant Interior Design work, ACad Studio provides a complete range of architectural and Interior Design services from inception to completion or a partial service which could be availed in any and every kind of service we impart such as architectural work, construction process, and design.
